In one of our previous posts, we talked about how IBS solutions or prefabricated construction can help reduce risk during the Coronavirus pandemic. And while that post touched upon a reduction of the workforce on build sites, here is another novel solution that will directly help to reduce the spread of the virus. And this is through prefabricated pavilions that act as vaccination stations designed by architect Stefano Boeri.

These structures will be prefabricated out of structural wood and encapsulated with a water-resistant textile. This project came at the direction of Domenico Arcuri, the country’s special commissioner for the COVID-19 emergency. It will see 1,500 of these set up across Italy in the coming months.

Of course, the main advantage of using a prefabricated design is the speed at which these stations can be set up. The faster the building is constructed, the faster the vaccination process can begin.
