If you often think of IBS Construction of Prefabricated Construction as a new and unproven technology think again. Way back in 1980, Michael Jantzen designed this revolutionary prefabricated small-scale, modular, energy-efficient, relocatable building system that can be assembled in an exceedingly short time.

His goal was to create a building that could be quickly put up anywhere in the world by a small number of people with simple tools. The structure that he designed looks futuristic even by today’s standards. His design revolved around insulated wood panels that could be clipped together to form structures.

Today’s IBS Construction techniques are remarkably similar, except fortified to meet modern building safety standards. Our steel formwork technique for example uses metal frames to create the base structure, then foam concrete is filled into the frame resulting in a vast reduction of time compared to traditional bricklaying techniques.

Since the 1980s IBS construction techniques have been perfected so much so that today, even tall high-rise buildings can be created using IBS or prefab methods. You can learn more about IBS construction and what we at Procrop IBS do by clicking here.
